Spring - #MoonwashedWeeklyPrompt #tanka #spring #Aprilshowers #poem #poetry #poetrycommunity @YvetteMCalleiro

Hello, beautiful readers! For this week's Moonwashed Weekly Prompt, Eugi shares the image above and the following poem and invites us to use the image/words as inspiration. Here is her poem:

transcend limitations
let life peak
when, where you desire
own your expectations

I chose to use her image as well as some of her words. I've bolded and italicized them in my poem. I decided to write a tanka, which is five lines with a 5-7-5-7-7 syllabic pattern.

spring is in the air
open vibrant umbrellas
April showers come
when, where is a mystery
let life be lived on a whim

Are you inspired to write a poem based on her image and/or words? Join us here.

  1. Hi,
    I don't know why but I don't receive your poetry anymore. It must be something I have done, but I don't know what.
    Anyway, I like this poem. Spring is not yet in the air here, but it's coming. So that the when, where really hit home, because it is a mystery.
    Shalom shalom

    1. I'm sorry to hear that, Pat! I took a week off of writing because I went on vacation, but I didn't change anything on my end. I'm happy you stopped by to check. I hope spring shows up soon for you. :-)
