Hello, beautiful readers! For this week's Xploration Challenge, Reena invites us to think outside the box, to find something that speaks to us and write from its perspective. I decided to write a senryu from the perspective of a poet's pencil.

hold me tenderly
pour your heart's desires through me
let me be your muse

I relate to the idea of the pen being a muse. At times, I start thinking only in front of the screen.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great place to start thinking. Thanks for sharing, Reena! :-)
DeleteAnything that inspires you will be a good muse. Great poem.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Cai! Thanks for stopping by. :-)
DeleteI believe in 'Muses' - I remember though one person mentioned to me that muses were bolderdash or excuses. Their feeling was if 'you' write it take the credit. :) ~Jules
ReplyDeleteInteresting take, Jules! I think I can take the credit and still be inspired by someone/something. Thanks for sharing! :-)
DeleteI know there are many who still use a pen or pencil to write it all down manually, but I've never liked writing by hand. Ever since I learned how to type in 10th grade, that has always been my preference. But I do like the feel of this piece because it sounds like something people who prefer handwriting would think. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susi! I love to write by hand, but I rarely have the opportunity anymore. Typing is just so much faster, and so I tend to gravitate toward it. Thanks for sharing! :-)
