A Pink Spring - #TankaTuesday #tanka #poem #poetry #poetrycommunity @YvetteMCalleiro

Hello, beautiful readers! For this week's #TankaTuesday Poetry Challenge, Colleen invites us to write a poem about the color associated with our zodiac sign based on the chart she provided. As I am a Pisces, my color is pink. I chose to write a tanka poem that celebrates spring and pink in nature.

(image created with Microsoft Bing Image Creator)

bright cherry blossoms
pink strawberries grown on vines
spring is in full bloom
roseate spoonbills eat shrimp
sky blushes at sun's rising

  4. I love this so much, Yvi. I had a Vedic astrologer look at my chart, and she said I'm an Aquarius, Pisces, and then an Aries. I've always felt this reflects my personality! Love the shades of pink you shared in your poem. The imagery is so vivid. 💖

  9. Pink used to not be a color I would have chosen for myself... until both of my sons came along... with three guys and me - I got pink just so they wouldn't borrow my sweatshirts!

    Lovely tanka :) 💟
