Hello, beautiful readers! This poem was inspired by Dora at dVerse! It's challenge is called Diving into Margins. Dora encourages us to write a poem about margins. She shares many examples of margins such as the margin between transitions, the margin of a stream or seashore, the margin of shade and light, the margin of time, and so many more.
While looking through her beautiful inspiration, the first two lines of my poem below came flowing out of me, so I went with it. I decided to write a tanka poem for this prompt.
Such a nice tanka, Yvette! It's not always easy to discern the truth, especially in our social media world where everyone's thoughts can be accepted as equally valid, whether they're a "skewed reality" or not.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Dora! It has become quite difficult to focus on facts. Thanks for visiting! :-)
DeleteI really like this, Yvette! Though provoking :) xo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Denise! I appreciate you stopping by. :-)
DeleteThe thing I love the most about poetry is the 'cut to the chase' aspect. You did a fantastic job with this tanka!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jan! I appreciate the compliment. :-)
DeleteLovely take Yvette. Sadje
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sadje! I appreciate you stopping by. :-)
DeleteYvette, I love your tanka! Very well said. 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you, Punam! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. :-)
DeleteAh... the eyes have it - sometimes anyway. What we perceive isn't always true. But I think deep down the heart knows... unlike some politicians who haven't learned the simple truth that it is better to say nothing than to insult another. Or 'If you can't say (or do) anything nice...don't speak (or do).
ReplyDeleteHow can one lead when they are unwilling to take advice and think before doing really stupid things? It is unfortunate that we are going to find out sooner than later. (*sigh*)
I agree, Jules. Yesterday was a long day of the sad realities we will face for the next four years. I'm still disgusted that he pardoned people who brutally attacked police officers. Deep breath...
