Hello, beautiful readers! I just got back from an amazing camping trip yesterday. My sister, niece, and I stayed in a cabin in northern Florida for three nights. The cabin was wonderful with a beautiful porch and rocking chairs. We hiked and rode bikes for over 10 miles on both Saturday and Sunday. We played board games in between. On Sunday, my nephew and my son drove from their universities to meet us at the park and spend some time with us. It's been months since I've seen my son, so it was a real treat to spend quality time together.
Today, I'm combining two prompts. The first is Melissa's Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge #365 where she shares the adorable picture below. The second prompt is dVerse's Shhhhhhh.......Quiet, Please! prompt. Lillian invites us to write a quadrille using the word "silence" or "silent" within the poem. A quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words.

Play Time
colorful, soft, golden yarn
neatly wrapped in balls
the ultimate temptation
for my furry little friend
his tiny sharp claws
need to touch them
unroll and play with them
so he stalks
silent and stealthy
toward his golden treasure
ready to claim his rewards

ReplyDeleteThank you, Ange! I appreciate your visit. :-)
DeleteWe had a cat when our kids were young: a Siamese named Blossom. And I am a knitter. One day I left my basket of yarn out by mistake....oooh did I pay for that. But Blossom sure must have had a good time! Thanks for the memories! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Thanks for sharing such a cute memory, Lillian! :-)
DeleteWhat a treasure indeed for a little kitty! And SO much fun for a person to sort out later, LOL.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'm happy I'm not that person. Thanks for visiting, Rosemary! :-)
DeleteThis is tender for tenderizing rough edges, I say. Lovely. And thanks for sharing about your weekend. Blessings always. selma
ReplyDeleteThank you, Selma! I appreciate your visit! :-)
DeleteIt sounds like you had such a great getaway. I'm not a camper, but a cabin with a porch and rockers sounds very pleasant.
ReplyDeleteDelightful poem! (Except we once had a cat who swallowed some twine and had to have surgery! )
Oh, no! That's horrible, Merril! I hope the cat was okay (and learned his lesson!). We camped for many years, but as we are now older, a cabin is much more our style. Thanks for stopping by! :-)
DeleteGlad you had a nice vacation and got to see your son, Yvette. Loved the poem. Xo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Denise! I appreciate your visit. :-)
DeleteExcellent and delightful response to both prompts, Yvette.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dale! I appreciate you visiting. :-)
