Hello, beautiful readers! I had a wonderful birthday celebration this past weekend with various groups of friends. Thursday night was spent with family as we enjoyed dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. My work friends and I went to a Bingo Loco event on Friday night and had a blast! Saturday was spent at the beach with my sister. Afterward, we had dinner and then treated ourselves to reflexology massages. And Sunday was spent with another group of friends at Escapology and then lunch. I enjoyed every moment of it and am grateful for all the love shared with me this weekend.
Today, I'm combining three prompts. The first is dVerse's Quadrille #243 where De Jackson invites us to write a quadrille using the word bird. A quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words.
The second challenge comes from Wea've Written Weekly (W3). Nancy invites us to write a shadorma poem with a theme of sensory details. A shadorma has a syllabication pattern of 3/5/3/3/7/5.
The last prompt is #TankaTuesday's Poetry Challenge. Colleen asks us to write an Ekphrastic poem, which is a poem inspired by a piece of art. She provided the beautiful image below as her example, and I loved the piece, so I decided to write a poem for it as well.
awakening sky
golden hues
repel dark
Gaia basks in her glory
sweet transformation
songbirds sing
harmonic voices
ricochet
off mountains
melodies among the trees
public serenade
dewy grass
wears lake's mist with pride
resplendent
crystal crowns
dissipate with rising sun
morning's masterpiece
