Happy August, beautiful readers! July was a very stressful month for me with all the renovations. Yesterday was probably the most stressful as I'm dealing with a dishonest contractor. I'm so close to this project being done, and I just want it finished. I go back to work next Thursday, so I'm feeling a lot of stress about whether the renovations will be completed by then. Plus, there is still so much I want to do before the teacher planning days start. I'm trying to focus on one day at a time, but it isn't always easy.
Anyway, for this week's Reena's Xploration Challenge #392, Reena invites us to focus on how one sees oneself in the future. She shares this video for inspiration. I'm nowhere near retirement, but when I think of my future, this is what I see. I've written a tanka for this challenge.

emotionally at peace
excited for new journeys

ReplyDeleteThank you, Reena! As long as I am able, I will always travel. I appreciate your visit. :-)
DeleteSeems a stressful time for you at the moment. Take care, keep writing short form poetry...tis a great stress reliever. Liked your Tanka.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is, Rall. I appreciate you visiting. :-)
DeleteYvette, I am sorry you are experiencing stressful times, and I wish you good luck with your renovations, and hope all works out in your favor.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eugi! I know the end result will be beautiful. I just wish the process didn't have such unnecessary stress. I appreciate your well wishes. :-)
DeleteBeautiful, Yvette, and I love 'avid wanderer' and I hope the stress fades soon.

Thank you, Lauren! I appreciate your visit. :-)
DeleteHi Yvette. I hope August is a better month for you. Wishing you rest and peace. D
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting! I appreciate the well wishes. :-)
DeleteSome of us are retired ;) And, well we've got things to fill our daze! I think I'd like to explore some different countries... or even local areas... but the bugs are biting...so arm chair traveling is nice too. I saw a huge horsefly the other day - thankfully it did not take a chunk out of me!
ReplyDeleteI don't mess with horseflies. Those suckers hurt! I've traveled all the states and many countries. I'm hesitant to travel abroad since countries aren't too happy with the US right now. Plus, my budget is $0. Armchair traveling it is! Lol! Thanks for stopping by, Jules! :-)
