Hello, beautiful readers! Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! I will be offline for a few days to celebrate the holidays and to go camping with my sister, but I wanted to complete this week's #TankaTuesday poetry challenge before I leave. This week, Melissa from Mom With a Blog invited us to write a haiga.
A haiga is a haiku embedded in a picture. Traditionally, the picture is a brush painting and the haiku is in calligraphy, but for this week's challenge, we are able to use a regular photo. I chose to create one on Canva using AI.
One of the traditions my family and I have is to play card and board games on Noche Buena, Christmas Eve. It always leads to lots of laughter, creating great memories. Last night was no exception! We had a wonderful time, sitting together around the dining table and playing various games. So, for my haiga, I chose to focus on that moment!
I wish you all a wonderful holiday filled with love and laughter!

DeleteI love this haiga, Yvi. I miss playing games with my kids on Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Colleen! My sister and I are grateful that our adult (and almost adult) children still love playing card and board games with us. :-)
DeleteBeautiful, Yvette. "Scent of pine needles" -- always brings me to Christmas. 😊
ReplyDeleteI agree, Gwen! There are pine trees further north in Florida, but we really don't get that scent down here until it's Christmas time. :-)
DeleteThis is lovely Yvette, evokes my idyll of Christmas 💞Suzanne
ReplyDeleteThank you, Suzanne! I'm happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for visiting! :-)

ReplyDeleteThank you, Robbie! I appreciate you visiting. :-)
Delete(Jules) A lovely tradition! Once my SIL moved to the area we spent at least one weekend night playing cards. Every once in a while I' find a small game (sometimes not even opened) at the charity shop. Hubby and I try them out now and then. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful few days with you Sib. Mine are too far to get together all that often. Happy New Year!
Board games are always so much fun, and they help strengthen that interconnectedness we are missing from technology. I'm happy you find time to enjoy them. Happy New Year, Jules! Thanks for stopping by and sharing! :-)
