Cleansing the Heart, the Home - #TankaTuesday #tanka #poem #poetry #poetrycommunity @YvetteMCalleiro

Hello, beautiful readers! Thank you for all the prayers and healing energy for my mom. She is not out of the woods yet, but she is on the mend. It is freezing cold in Miami. It was in the 30s for the past two nights. Yesterday was the worst of it. I woke up to ice on my windshield. In Miami! This is crazy! Today's temps are going from the 30s to the 60s in one day. Normally, the 60s are cold to me, but I am looking forward to it. Perspective. Lol!

I am hosting again at #TankaTuesday, and this week I proposed that we write a poem focused on cleansing. Usually, I start every new year by saging my home. The intent was there, but for one reason or another, I didn't get around to it until this past weekend. Maybe the universe knew I still had a few things to deal with in January before ridding my home of all that negative energy.

wisps of burning sage
all dark energy removed
purification
fresh, new beginnings welcomed
peace and harmony commence

  2. Ice in Miami! That is crazy, Yvette. Here in Oregon, 60 degrees is T-shirt weather. Lol. A beautiful poem and an inspiring idea. I have some sage around here somewhere and a cleansing is long overdue. <3 <3 Hugs.

    2. Thank you, Diana! Mother Nature spun around too many times and got disoriented in where to dump the freezing weather. Lol! Thanks for stopping by! :-)

  6. I bet a sage home smells delightful! I hope your mother is well on the mend, Yvette. Your poem is lovely; your weather sounds frightful. We will be in Miami in less than two weeks to depart on a cruise. I hope the weather sorts itself out before then! :) xxx

  10. Ice in Miami? 😳 Goodness, that is cold for you guys. I know my daughter is freezing, too. I hope your mom is on the mend. The crazy weather doesn't help. I LOVED your poem. It's right up my alley. 💖

  12. Interesting. I remove dark energy from my home by not believing in it. With the smell of Thai food throughout, how could it even exist? Maybe in the bathroom if there was too much chilli! Haha!

  17. I'm not big on insense or even candles. I've read somewhere that putting a bundle of bayleaves by your doors can help keep negativity out.

All the best to your Mom. Recovery may be slow, but I'm glad it is in sight.

We had relative in the Keys last week... not funt that it wasn't warm! ;)

    1. I do not use incense or candles, either, Jules. Sage is a natural plant. I'm sorry your relative couldn't enjoy the Keys. Cold weather is not welcome this far south. Lol! Thanks for visiting today! :-)

  18. I do a weekly incense cleanse of my office and altar. It really seems to help my energy. I can get over ice in Miami. That is insane. I hope you're back to normal by now. 💟

    1. It's still in the 50s in the morning but jumps to the low 70s by the afternoon. That is a bit more tolerable for me. I hope we never experience that again. Lol! Thanks for stopping by, Colleen! :-)
