Hello, beautiful readers! My kitchen is almost complete! It has been three and a half months of dealing with a horrible contractor. The cabinet guy has been wonderful, though. He was at my house for about eight hours, installing the shelves and doors. He wasn't able to finish and says he will be back on Tuesday. This project is almost over, and I cannot wait to have my house whole again.
Today, before I begin cleaning and pulling items from boxes and putting them on shelves, I decided to partake in the Wea've Written Weekly (W3) prompt. Ange shares two pictures and invites us to write an ekphrastic poem. Part of the instructions is to incorporate the word blue into our poem and to not exceed 15 lines. I chose the image below and wrote a haiku.
cerulean dreams
coasting on soothing, blue waves
worries drift away

Thank you, David! It's been a nightmare with my contractor, but I am happy that it's almost done. Thanks for stopping by. :-)
DeleteYvette this feels like worry dissolving in the rhythm of nature - it instantly makes me calm 💙
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy I could bring you some calm, Ange! Thank you for sharing that with me. :-)
DeleteBlue is truly a soothing hue.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Reena! I appreciate your visit. :-)
DeleteI just now read through all the responses to this week's prompt- and you are the only one that introduced the soothing quality of blue- it feels almost as if this verse is the sorbet, something small- just to cleanse the palette. Love it.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you, Violet! I appreciate such a kind compliment! :-)
DeleteYes, Yvette, I agree with everyone. Your poem makes me want to get to the shore and just sit and stare for a while.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find time to do so. Thank you for visiting! :-)
DeleteFirst, your haiku is beautiful and serene. As for the kitchen! I originally went to Home Depot and bought a kitchen and I should have had their contractors put them in because the contractors I found, who I thought would be better because "they have their own business" was a mistake. The kitchen got done but it was hacked up and now if anyone wanted to change anything it would be a juggling act. I was so disappointed with the quality of work some people say is their best.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that. I don't understand why people can't be professional and honorable in their work. I appreciate you visiting and sharing. :-)
Delete'blue waves' captures a soothing feeling
ReplyDeleteI agree, Artie! Thanks for stopping by. :-)
