Hello, beautiful readers! Today started off a bit hectic. I had to drive someone I care deeply about to the ER today because this person is having some complications. For privacy purposes, I won't mention who or what he/she is going through, but it looks like he/she will be at the hospital for a few days. Unfortunately, the hospital and ER are full to capacity so there isn't a room to give him/her. Please send prayers and healing energy because this person needs all that can be sent.
After getting back home, I picked up my son and finally went to see Avatar 2! Oh, my gosh! This movie was AMAZING! The CGI was incredible. I felt as if those creatures were real. I was completely immersed in the movie and felt everything the main characters were feeling. My son informed me that there are three more Avatar movies coming (2024, 2026, and 2028). If they are anything as good as this one was, they will be worth the wait.
I then had a nail appointment, so I went to that for a little pampering. When I was younger, I had the horrible habit of biting my nails. Though I stopped biting them as an adult, one of the ways my anxiety manifested was by picking my cuticles. I wouldn't realized I was even doing it until I bled. I find that keeping them painted helps prevent me from picking at them. So, every other week, I make them time to get a little pampered.
Back home, I visited my other RRBC members' blogs and left comments. I'm enjoying reading about what my fellow authors' lives are like. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to work for my part-time job, which was a bit disappointing for me, but I'll get some hours in tomorrow, I'm sure.
Nor did I have time to work out, so I spent a few minutes stretching. My muscles thanked me, especially after yesterday's dive. I'm hoping to get a walk in tomorrow, but it looks like it will be another hectic day.
I ended the night eating dinner and watching Kaleidoscope with my son. I haven't figured out what it is I'm supposed to be figuring out yet, but the episodes we have watched have been great.
What movies have you seen recently that you think are worth watching? Share in the comments below. :-)
Hi Yvette. I clicked into your web from your comment to me. Thanks for your kind words. You know I appreciate you.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying your day today as well. I'm going to have to make time to see Avatar after your glowing review.
I have no doubt you will love it. Patty has watched it three times, and now I understand why. Thanks for visiting today! :-)
DeleteHi Yvette--This is Wanda. So glad you enjoyed Avatar. My son has gone to see it and has also liked it. I haven't worked out for a couple of days, either, although I have had a chance to play tennis a couple of times this week. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletePlaying tennis is definitely a work out. I long ago stopped equating exercise with going to a gym. Now, I prefer walking, bike riding, yoga, stretching, and completing my Burst Fit videos. Thanks for visiting, Wanda! :-)
DeleteHi, Yvette! I'm sorry to hear about your friend and I will whisper a prayer. How coincidental that we both got manicures yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThanks for recommending Avatar. It's next for me. Two good movies I've seen are The Black Panther II and The Woman King which was the best. I think the title doesn't do the movie justice as the story is about all of the women in the king's army. It is just great!
I also saw Black Panther and LOVED it! I wanted to see The Woman King because I love the main actress, but it's no longer showing in our theatres, so I'll wait until it comes out on Netflix. Thanks for the recommendation. :-)

ReplyDeleteHi, Yvette,
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the movies. I saw the Avatar movie but to be honest, I wasn't in awe of it. So, I don't think I will see Avatar 2.
I will pray that your friend gets a room soon. To be so sick and not have a room depresses people. I hope their health improves quickly.
Have a lovely Saturday.

Thank you for your well wishes, Pat. A room was found, but this person is still in extreme discomfort. :'( Hopefully, the doctors can figure out what is causing everything and fix it.
DeleteYvette, first sending energy to your dear friend, and hope a room is available soon! I'm glad you took time for a bit of pampering. You pack so much into your days, you deserve it! I saw Avatar, but not #2. I really loved the first one. Hmm - movies I've enjoyed recently? I just rewatched Good Will Hunting and had forgotten how good it was. Plus, the young Matt Damon looks so much like my grandson! I love "vintage" movies And always checkout TCM first. Hope your friend improves soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Maura Beth! There has been no improvement yet. In fact, the symptoms seem worse. :'( Keep sending that energy, please. If you loved the first Avatar, you will love the new one. I saw Good Will Hunting years ago. I probably need to revisit it because I don't remember much of it. :-)
DeleteI'm so glad you got to see Avatar 2, Yvette! I'm awed at the creativity in this movie. Praying for the person you mentioned. God knows very well whom you're speaking about, and He has this.
ReplyDeleteOne movie that surprised me because I didn't like the book was Where the Crawdads Sing. Normally, the book is better than the movie, but in this case, I found it to be just the opposite. The movie is visually stunning, and the story moves along at a good pace. If you haven't seen it yet, I hope you do! I'm sure it's streaming somewhere. Blessings!
I haven't seen it yet. The premise sounded good, but I just don't have a lot of time. With your recommendation, I'll see if I can find it on Netflix. Thanks, Patty! :-)
DeleteHi Yvette, this is Donna Atwood. To begin, please know that I'm sending prayers and healing energy to your friend. I'm wishing him/her a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just LOVE getting your nails done? I find it to be immensely relaxing.
To answer your movie question, to be honest, it's been awhile since I dove into a really good TV show or movie. My life has been unusually unsettled and hectic, especially over the last couple of years, as my mom has needed a lot of help from me.
Many blessings!

Thank you for the prayers and healing energy, Donna! This person needs as much as can be offered. And yes, I enjoy getting my nails done. With as much typing as I do, I feel my hands deserve a bit of pampering. I hope your mom is okay. I don't know her situation, but maybe you can watch a show together. :-)
DeleteI began watching Kaleidescope last night, and I don't like it. Each viewer starts at a different point in the story. I don't enjoy jail scenes. I stopped watching it and began Alice in Borderland on Netflix. It's similar to Squid Game; the games and story are different. My favorite series this month was Emily In Paris. Emily helped me get through Covid. I watched Season one and Season two twice. It was the only thing that calmed me.
ReplyDeleteWe are almost done with Kaleidoscope. It's pretty interesting, but I can understand how it isn't for everyone. The episode we just saw had a plot twist in it, so it just got a bit more interesting. I saw Squid Games and liked it, though I'm not sure I'd like to watch another one like it. Lol! That's the beauty of Netflix. There is something for everyone. Thanks for sharing, Susanne! :-)
DeleteHi, Nonnie! I don't have HULU, just Amazon Prime and Netflix. It sounds like a great show, though. My friend is finally back home, but there will be many appointments to make because the situation isn't resolved. Thanks for asking! :-)
