Hello, beautiful readers! Happy March! My birthday is just days away, and I am looking forward to another wonderful year around the sun. As normally happens around my birthday, I become reflective and look back at moments from my past to celebrate how far I've come. I love where I am in my life and look forward to many happy new experiences.
For this week's Wea've Written Weekly (W3) challenge, Christine invites us to write a poem with 26 words, each word using a different letter of the alphabet. Surprisingly, it wasn't too hard.
heart quivered from caresses
didn't believe in love
until joy permeated everywhere
romance grew voraciously
you were my Xanadu
now...only know sorrow

It's Violet, you did an amazing job with this. I have ended up like that too that's why I prefer the solo life.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Violet! I'm not shutting the door on love, but I'm not desperate to find it, either. I love my life and am happy to not have any drama. Thanks for visiting! :-)
DeleteThis was a hard one. You did very well. Heartrending!

DeleteYvette, “you were my Xanadu” really stood out to me — such a vivid line...
ReplyDeleteAnd the turn to “now…only know sorrow” feels quietly powerful to me.

Thank you, David! I loved the Xanadu movie as a child, so it was fun to incorporate it into the poem. Thanks for stopping by! :-)
